At some point though Susan you crossed over from healthy skepticism to debunkery,
So what are your definitions of ‘healthy scepticism’ and ‘debunkery’? Probably different from mine!! Your interpretation here of my posts etc is your personal and subjective opinion but does not accord with mine.
I became more confident in differentiating between fact and speculation, having read the views os sceptics and scientists getting to know quite a few personally, , subscribing to New Scientist, listening to more science broad casts on radio,, reading books by Prof Brian cox etc etc. Bearing in mind that at no point has anyone come up with objective evidence for any thing coming under even the broadest of headings of supernatural, I see no reason why this position should change. If you think that subjective evidence is not open to challenge, on a message board like this then why would that be?
Quote

instead of looking for the truth it became more important for you to look to disprove something regardless of the facts
Well, I can’t stop you from thinking that, but what facts are you referring to which I disregarded and which showed objectively that a speculative idea was in fact fact?.
Quote

This is even less productive than what it is you are railing against IMO.
Why is it not ‘productive’? What do you think would be ‘productive’ about agreeing that something subjective is, in fact, objective? It’s not that I am railing against things, I will always campaign for the distinction to be made as often as possible between fact and fiction, with a clear necessity of course for an ‘unknown’ area.

The question in the OP as well is what alternative ideas do you think are plausible or maybe you have some of your own.
I read all ideas, implausible or not, with great interest because they all demonstrate the infinite abilities of the naturally evolved human brain. Also because I’ve been reading all these things for my whole life. Reading about e.g. Mu? Been there, done that, got the T-shirt!!

If not then what is the point of being here?
There is no need for there to be a ‘point’ of being here. I lost all focal vision and was lucky enough to be able to find a computer and suitable software to enable me to keep entering discussion groups, and during the past few years with an age-related cataract not esactly helping, and being unable to travel and visit new places, I personally enjoy the communication, whether this comes as agreement or not.
And of course, no-one needs to respond to my posts if they prefer not to!

Susan
