An AE is presented with the number signs for 21 written sideways. The solar disc sign is present. He is asked to interpret the signs.
AE: "The numbers say 21 and the solar disc tells us that it is a date. The 21st".
Next, the same AE is presented with the same number signs written sideways. This time there is no solar disc sign present. What does it say.
AE: "What kind of sorcery is this. The signs means nothing to me"!
Not buying into scenario 2 is ethno-centric projection according to Scott. Utter nonsense.
Having thus established the true nature of sideways written number values in the OK,
Sideways number values + solar disc sign = dates.
Sideways number values without a solar disc are... numbers.
we can continue with a discussion that is strangely absent from Scotts article:
All of the numbers in question are accompanied by either the nfr sign (F35) or was sign (S40). Both are vertical signs, yet presented as horizontal here. Have Scott discussed these signs elsewhere?
