That's why I said "literally".
In fact, I think it's quite possible that the Bible is about historic events, but not the events taken literally as the scriptures have been translated. For example, I believe there was an "ark" that managed to preserved life on Earth, but I don't believe it was a boat, or that it was built by one family clan, or that a mating pair of every animal under the sun was somehow collected and stored on that thing for 40 days. Just as I believe there was a global catastrophe, but I don't believe it was what we refer to today as "rain".
And by the way, when you disagree with me, I don't call you names and go ballistic.
