The whole point of my comment to Thanos was to point out that this was more than probably NOT what people thought at the time the so-called ‘Gilgamesh’ stories were either written or re-transcribed in antiquity; I avoided using my own work as a reference for obvious reasons and quoted out of the esteemed book Hamlet’s Mill. If you re-read that quote carefully, you will get a better grasp of its meaning. It refers to OUR 20th century understanding of the texts.
