Actually, as you know, it’s not entirely easy to find out what Luca Miatello’s background is. A certain Scott Creighton, in his Hoax book, describes him as an “independent researcher” and credits him with a doctorate. Doctorate in what, exactly?

With a predictable irony, it’s the supposed supporter of “Orthodoxy” who looks at this without regard for qualifications and big name endorsement. I look at what Miatello presented and I am not impressed by it. He has ignored the loop of the supposed ‘20’. The real hieratic ‘20’ (of which he shows two examples, dated to the 5th dynasty) is merely a simplification or ligature of two ‘10’ characters. No loop.
