What? When did I say I "accept a sideways 'n' sign"? What I am saying to you is that you will find both a sideways 'n' sign AND a sideways '|' sign when USED AS DATES. Some hieratic numbers that use digits below 10 can be arranged horizontally. You can easily see that in a brief study of the numbers and dates in Moeller's hieratic. What you will NOT see in Moller's hieratic (or in Goedicke's) is the 'n' sign rotated on its side (unless it's a date that is being referenced as these were unique cases).
Two hieratic numbers apparently representing '20' written in completely different hieratic - you don't at least consider that odd?

For serious discussion of the controversies, approaches and enigmas surrounding the origins and development of the human species and of human civilization. (NB: for more ‘out there’ posts we point you in the direction of the ‘Paranormal & Supernatural’ Message Board).

MA: Why do you only accept a sideways 'n' sign and not a sideways 'I' sign? Why would the 'rules' be different for a 'one' and a 'ten'?

MA: I am not that familiar with the cavity you mention - and I have for sure never postulated that the signs there represent '20'. Ask someone who knows.
