This is my favourite interpretation OF Thom's findings at the Aubrey circle and Brodgar because it produces a base 10 radius very simply using the Aubrey circle circumference of 897.60 when base 7 is applied to the result.

To me it is a comprehensive proof that Thom got his figures absolutely correct.

His Aubrey circumference using a diameter of 105 megalithic yards is 897.60 feet using Pi as 22/7

Retranslating this using pi as 3.1416 gives a diameter of 285.7142857

285.7142857 x 7 is exactly 2000 so the radius is 1000.


897.60 x 7 = 6283.2 / 3.1416 = 2000.


The unit working here is 1/7 of a foot so between each posthole there are 6283.2 /56 units = 112.2.


2000 x 3.1416 = 6283.2



This is a very conclusive result for Thom, he simply was not looking for this kind of evidence.

All the numbers in this calculation are lifted from his first book.


If 22/7 is used the radius produces 44/7 x 1000 as the circumference Jacob's starting point.

The sekhed can then be used at Stonehenge to produce the escribed square of 8000 units side 2000 and the radius is 1000.


Root 2 approximate is rational within this system as 99/70.

How much proof is required?

This is a classic example of the duality of the system discovered by Thom as pi is represented as follows

132/42 megalithic rods

330/105 megalithic yards

897.60/285.60 imperial feet

897.60 - 285.60 = 612 imperial feet this is 90 megalithic rods.
