Petrie measured the socket sides and gave the mean as 9125.9 ins with a mean difference of 4.4.
The socket perimeter of the pyramid 9125.9 x 4 = 36503.6 inches and my first reaction was to think 36504 but look.

3.160493827 x 280 = twice the socket base 884.9382716 x = 1769.876543 royal cubits and I have always used 20.625 inches so again 1769.876543 x 20.625 = 36503.7 inches.
The Egyptian value for pi has been used to take us to the socket perimeter and from there to an earth measure as the socket perimeter is 30 seconds of one degree. Hendrik may take note here as we are heading to something very close to a nauticle mile.
36503.7 / 12 = 3041.9753 feet x 2 = 6083.950617 feet one minute x 60 = 365037.037 one degree 69.1358027 miles this in one degree so x 360 = 24,888.88888 miles for a circumference. Now using The Egyptian method of find area and circumference divide the circumference by 4 ie 24,888.88888 / 4 = 6,222.22222.
6,222.2222 / 8 x 9 = 7,000 (squared is area of circle with a diameter of next) /8 x 9 = 7875 miles an earth diameter and one we are familiar with. 7875 miles = 12673.237km and if both are divided by 86400 the height of the pyramid is reached 7875 miles x 5280 = 41,580,000 feet / 86400 = 481.25 feet 146.685m 280 Royal cubits of 20.625 inches.
So looking at the ancient math all is not as it seems and it seems to me the ancients passed on knowledge in this way and only the initiated really knew.
