'Quote "By what process did Professor Thom confirm the builders of Stonehenge Aubrey circle were cognizant of and employed pi."
Thom may not have given a seconds thought to that question.'
I am surprised that Jim said this because he has obviously not read Thom's first book and you won't know the capabilities of megalithic society till you read Thom.
Thom gave a lot of thought to that question and suggested this.
when talking about his measurements at Stonehenge and other sites.
'If these circumferences are all intended to be multiples of 2.5 we can write them 330, Aubrey, 392.50 Avebury, 392.5 Brodgar and 430 Stanton Drew, giving the interesting approximations for Pi as 22/7, 3.14 and 3.139.'
here different versions of Pi produce base 10 circumferences and he considered base 10 'universally sacred' but was reticent about this aspect of his findings.
Breaking down the Aubrey circumference 330 megalithic rods the diameter is 105 difference 225 and he gave it in megalithic rods as well being 132 and 42 difference 90.
In imperial feet it is 897.6 diameter 285.6 difference 612 and this is the 225 megalithic yards or 90 megalithic rods.
Here pi is working as 22/7.
So 897.60 is known 22/7 is known and the suspicion was the season was 7 x 13 = 91 days.
So 91 x 22/7 = 286 but the circumference using 22/7 is 285.60 a difference of 0.4.
A different version of Pi has been produced as 897.60 / 286 and the Aubrey becomes 91 x 22/7 x 897.60 / 286 = 897.60.
Pi as 897.60/286 is also 5440/1733.333r and it is 17/13 x 2.4
So the Aubrey is Pi squared as (17/13 x 24/10) x (11/7 x 2) x 7 x 13 = 897.60 or 330 megalithic yards or 272 ancient metres of 3.3 feet.
On top of this Thom failed to notice that 392.70 / 125 is 3.1416 and this version of pi has been found at G2 by Dune.
So does 3.1416 appear at the Aubrey? Yes it does. 897.60 x 3.5 = 3141.6 units.
Finally the relationship between 22/7 and 3.1416 is very telling.
22/7 - 3.1416 = 0.001257143
22/7 / 0.001257143 = 2500
3.1416 / 0.001257143 = 2499
22/7 is represented as base 1000 here multiplied by Thom's 2.5.
From any perspective based on Thom's outputs and what Thom missed the evidence for the use of Pi at the Aubrey is conclusive when also 22/7 x 9800/9801 is also taken into the account.
Finally 176 where is it in 897.60?
5.1*176 = 897.6
5.1 is three quarters of a megalithic rod.
This version of Pi 897.60 /285.60 unlocks the Aubrey and I have written about it in my book 'Stonehenge the Eclipse' so the evidence has been published and at last it is beginning to be understood and its significance, in respect of Thom's work, appreciated.
cheers
