Quote 'Just curious as to how the Architects of the Great Pyramid were able to note real pi? '
Hi Jacob
Flinders Petrie when discussing 'summary of probable theories' states p.94 my copy 'The Kings's Chamber walls are determined by the same pi proportion which rules the exterior of the pyramid'
As you know I am a devotee of the Indus/Saxon foot 13.2 inches and so when I looked at the circuit of the side wall of the chamber concluded the height 19.2 imperial feet (230.4 inches by the way) and the length 34.375 imperial feet 412.5inches created a circuit of 107.15 imperial feet 1285.8 inches 97.409090909 Indus/Saxon feet.
Flinders Petrie in a footnote previous page 'The employment of square measure, which appears to furnish the best solution of the Pyramid design, is singularly parallel to the use of square measure mentioned in the "Sulvasutras"; from those writings t appears that Hindu geometry in its origin sprung from the religious ideas of the building of altars, differing in form but equal in area. (See Prof. Thibaut in the Second "International Congress of Orientalists."'
Petrie has endorsed the influence of Hindu geometry so back to the circuit of the wall of the Kings Chamber 97.409090909 Indus/Saxon feet and it's square roots 1st 9.869604395 2nd square root = 3.141592653 true pi to 9 decimal places.
It should also be noted 97.4 Indus is very nearly the same number as the diameter of the Sarsen circle at Stonehenge in Imperial feet. These people are all using the same numbers.
