Cloister has set up a very relevant sub thread. Sounds like he has already been through the mill with these units and knows exactly what he is talking about.
He hits the nail well and truly on the head.
'The difference between the cubits turns out to be a unit of measurement in its own right. Something that has also shown up elsewhere.
You can go on and on like this, turning up canonical relationships with the same numbers showing up over and over again. '
Not what needs to be done at all but it happens to all of us all of the time. So we know about what the canon does but what about the numbers in between that Cloister speaks of. They are possibly even more revealing, for example
11.64705882 imperial inches, i bet we have all heard of that one, used by the Leighton Bromswold stocks bulding society in the late 1400's AD.
Not really, I jest, but i reckon Jim knows what is coming next. yes
Thom, always Thom. Where would we be without his work, looking for a paddle probably.
11.64705682 imperial inches looks quite hideous but is a Cloister unit and they are possibly key.
It is simply 12 inches x 33/34 33 is imperial 34 Thom.
I know that Jim knows there are 5280 feet in the mile, but how many of these Cloister units?
5280 x 12 = 63360 / 11.64705682 = 5440 exactly.
So from now on we know that there are 5440 units in the mile as well as 5280. And Thom's system comes alive.
Want another one?
100/99 = 1.10101010101010101010
or its inverse 0.99.
Using the inverse Cloister unit gives 5280 / 0.99 = 5333.3333r the 'sacred? eclipse system base 100'
Michell's canon gave me months of sleepless nights till these relationships surfaced.
This is how the ancients appear to have done it, using different length units against the same diameters perimeters and circumferences ( areas and volumes too but not got that far yet ).
This is why the cube of phos is so remarkable as it takes us to volumes and Jim's work has taken us to areas.
I can gives one more Cloister unit because it is fundamental to understanding the work of Anne Macaulay in her book 'Megalithic Measures and Rhythm's'
The unit is 0.971428571 looks a bit dodgy but if you are in this up to the neck you will know it is a version of pi at 22/7 . If Pi as 22/7 is in weeks then one day is 1/7 and this unit divides into the 0.971428571 unit 6.8 times. Thom.
The unit has a name in Macualay's book - the Roman foot. Multiply it by 7 and get 6.8 units. Thom.
The whole of Maculay's book is based on the work of one man.
Go on, have a guess.
No not Michell, Thom.
It is a soli lunar adjustment unit.
At Avebury Thom discovered number 521 so x 7 = 3647 x the Roman foot = 3542.8 the Lunar year.
Thom did not work this out and it shows he was not fudging his work. How many of us would have settled for 520 units?
Michell's canon is the foundation stone of my findings in my last book via researching a book called
'The Lost Science of Measuring the Earth' co authored by Robin Heath and John Michell.
Michell's system is not yet properly understood.
132000000 is a standardised unit for a reason, using Jim's unit it becomes a sacred? unit.
note
I stsrted off calling these units - base 10 'divine units' then realised 'sacred' seem to be the norm but now i prefer 'natural' but who knows in a few weeks time?
I hope Cloister doen't mind me calling the units ( units of trnsition)after this name.
The cube of phos hold many secrets i think
1.5 x 10/9 = 1.666666666666666666666666666666r cubed equsls 4.62962963
divided into the cube of phos = 729000000

i think it does the cubes times tables
