'Nice of you to stop by and offer your correction to my area calculation which I agree with now that you mention it. Which means in order to obtain that decimal inch radius value I posted I have to divide the entire perimeter area into 99^2, or 9801, instead of just 99.'
i recently read 'All done With Mirrors' by John Neal.
It is an amazing book but things stand out.
He completely misinterprets Thom's megalithic yard.
He uses decimal notation throughut the book and the ancients most probably did not use decimals.
The book made me want to weep as brilliant as it is. It is so 'normal' person unfriendly.
the simplify button needs to be pressed.
First press
The imperial system x 34/33 is Thom's system. No decimal notation required.
Second press
10/9 and 100/99 are the roots of the ancient system
this is 1000/891 this is 1.12233445566778899 did the ancients know thsi? Highly unlikely!!
Why does Neal; get units of 2.22222r or 4.44444r or 88.0808080808 etc
Thay are all derived from fractions, fractional analysis produces meaningful information. decimal analysis rarely does.
