Hi Jacob,
Call what I or we are doing speculation if you will, but I like to call it following a program. When this program was established is beyond human memory. But for me, it is a lot easier to see why certain numerical ratios were once revered as 1225/1224, just as John Michell's mention of it found in Plato's Timaeus 33a., being the sum of "En Olon Olwn" - 1225, One Whole of Wholes. And likewise the value 1224 being "Ktisis Theou"- God's Creation. Among a host of other phrase values, totaling the same. I seem to recall a diagram posted on the internet a very long time ago, that depicted a circle divided into 56 equal segments, that I thought was impressive at the time. I can't imagine what prompted the author of that diagram to make such a geometric figure, unless he was likewise following a program knowingly or not back then. Do you happen to know anything about the author of that diagram? Because if he had expanded that Circle division by another 60^2, or 3600 more units, he might have discovered something interesting about those individual sections of .15555th. of the Whole. Take that figure Jim keeps bringing up for example of 7875 Miles, being a diameter of the Earth, and multiplied by .15555 = 1225.
So even though you don't regard what I am doing as being "mathematically correct", according to your opinion of what the AE's practices were, the results are just the same. Otherwise, Plato wouldn't have inherited and conveyed that program information handed down from beyond human memory for others to follow also, would he?
Best regards,
Stephen
