While I'm pulling over and thinking about it, I thought I would toss this item on the table also. The current definition of the Modern Meter, started out as being a 1/10,000,000 part of the Polar quadrature of the Earth. And there is no reason why it shouldn't be just that today, but it isn't thanks to all those oh so smart scientific committees involved in its formulation. As, the old saying goes, if you want to kill a great idea, just hand it over to a committee, LOL! But if you persisted with that idea, as I am doing now, you could make the following observation regarding the Equatorial dimension as well. 4 x (561/560)= 4.0071428757 etc. as in x 10^7 Meters for the Equatorial Circ. Divided by 22/7 Pi = 1.275. This figure multiplied by 45* = 57.375*, or that same Radian unit/degree value for the Speed of Light, once again. The angle 45*, is well known in trigonomic calculations as sine .707106781, or half of the sq.rt. of 2. And if the Earth were a perfectly round sphere, that angle would be the equivalent of the actual Median degree value of the Earth. But for some as yet unknown reason to me, the ancients decided to place that Old Meter Median degree value at precisely 1224 arc. sec. lower than the 45* point on the sphere of the Earth. But that location is still a lot better than what the current Modern Meter difference from 45* is, LOL! Could it be those ancient were trying to tell us something about the Speed of Light by placing it at that location?
