It's based on the adult lifespan of a privileged ancient Egyptian.
The window of opportunity that a king had time to construct his own tomb.
Nothing whatsoever to do with physical evidence, structural engineering or logistics.
If it's a tomb it had to be built in 20 years. Six million tons cut quarried and laid in 20 years.

He just modified pre existing ideas.
