Trumpet..Excellent! Even better. :)
About half way along on the top you'll see three valves.
Same again, similar to the trombone but instead of sliding, push the valves.
How many combinations of up and down can you get out of three valves?
Listen and note the effect.

It's very clever, but not magic..
