Beyond any doubt they already know all the truth about GP. I bet Hawass already knows it was not built by Ancient Egyptians (at least not by that society that mummified the bodies and came up with a new god for anything they could not comprehend). The fact is status quo works for them just fine. Tourism, etc all that brings money. Parents can tell the kids that Ancient Egyptians did impossible in engineering, making them proud.
There is absolutely no reason for them to change the story at this point and they never will unless they need to... Why screw up what is working for them so well. Yes, they will use all possible to delay, sabotage or downplay... but I also know it is just a matter of time when they are confronted with the facts they will not be able to deny anymore, and then they will change their story!
