Not to put too fine a point on it but this specific 60,000,000+ lbs of missing stone does not include this new void. We'll have to say there is significantly more stone missing when adding in the linear void below the gables, this new void AND the passageway and heat sink that comprise the thermal anomaly. This entire corner and east side is built very lightly and the chief reason is to not "suffocate" the Mafdet Lynx. The specific reason for this new void really must be considered unknown at this time.

When we know why this area is light we'll know why they built the pyramid.

Of course the reason I've been calling for infrared and scientific testing is I knew things just like this would be found. You can't hide a giant Sphinx under the pyramid and 28th century BC primitives couldn't hide the means they used to build pyramids. There's no doubt that the application of modern science can solve all the questions in a matter of months. A muon scanner on the east side would not only show a third dimension to this new void but would even catch the first glimpse of the second Sphinx in 4750 years. The resolution might even be good enough to see the expression they carved in its face.
