On problem coming up with a quantitative definition of "mainstream" is that there apparently is no standardized core curriculum in Egyptology at colleges that confer a degree in it. This renders the scope and standards of the field as moving targets. There doesn't even seem to be a standard definition of "ramp" anymore. And is a "tomb" necessarily for a physical body, or can a tomb be restricted to the 'ka' without a corpse?
So as a general indicator of what's "mainstream", I would look at what's being promoted to children in lower education and college textbooks, and also at museums and by the media.
