The Pyramid Texts and ancient literature strongly suggests the pyramid is a sort of time capsule that houses thousands of scientific samples and specimens as well as their version of "The Handbook of Chemistry and Physics" known as the "Book of Thot" (book of human knowledge)(this book principally concern methods and processes of science rather than tables).
This book is inscribed on tall walls around the second Sphinx which appears to sit on the east side with its head and forepaws in the NE corner.
There are indications of other constructions under here as well with all on the east side ranging from the well shaft to the southeast and all the way to the north side.
The site of G1 was an exceedingly important spot going back as much as 40,000 years. For the period between ~8000 BC and ~2600 BC the site was probably continuously occupied but once the pyramid was built (2700 BC) it began falling by the wayside. In those days our history was intact but history was lost with ancient science.

Man fears the pyramid, time fears man.
