I doubt this, Dennis. You have to ask why an AE 'legitimately' inscribing the Khufu cartouche onto an in-situ roof block would want to paint the script onto the block sideways and not right-way-up. I find it simply inconceivable that the AEs would have written script sideways/upside-down onto in-situ blocks. However, if you wished to present the illusion that the marks were inscribed prior to the blocks being placed (i.e. at the quarry ergo the marks must be genuine), then this sideways / upside-down writing is precisely what you would do with in-situ blocks (as well as restricting the script to individual blocks).
