The fragment in the picture is part of the lid with cornice which when removed may have been dropped and broken though that does not explain why the rest of it and the other fragments appear so unnecessarily demolished. I am not sure how much of what remains is lid and what is sarcophagus but this almost seems deliberately excessive.
