Thank you for the kind words. Talking about symbolism is usually an exercise in futility for me. Very few people
understand it and I spend more time trying to explain "symbolism" than actually trying to have a meaningful
dialogue about what is illustrated. The old adage about a picture being worth a thousand words is absolutely
correct. Forgive me if my symbolism output is long and possibly tedious for some. But I have been accused
on occasion of cherry-picking what I want it to symbolize so I tend to present all of the evidence that I've
found and let the reader decide if I'm correct.
The fact that you do difficult translations allows your mind to understand things in ways most people can't.
Over the years I have been fortunate enough to encounter people who are knowledgeable in semiotics.
Although they are hesitant to share very much they were kind enough to point me in the right direction.
Although in some cases it took years to understand what they were trying to say. All have told me that it is
an individual path that you need to walk by yourself.
Now for the good news!
You have given me the answer to what the Djet Comb represents. It was so obvious that I groaned when I read your last post.
The number of teeth (30).
When I said it represents the rays of the sun, I was partially correct.
Let me give your the symbolism for the number 30:
Carries the influence of three. A path whence astrologers deduce their judgements, as it is the approximate
number of days required for the sun's transit through one zodiac sign and for a manifestation of the phases
of the moon.
eg. The Parthenon in Athens, honours the dawn goddess, as it had 30 pillars in one direction.
So what we have is a calendar.
In some of the Egyptian hieroglyphs you or Thanos presented it shows an ankh, was, etc.
What they are trying to symbolize is what is required for life to exist as we know it. Also
required are the rays of the sun. Now of course I'm paraphrasing but I think the concept is
correct. At least with some of the glyphs. (This comment is just a little tongue-in-check) ;-)
