Your posts here have all been incredibly informative, and I realize that using the word ‘disagree’ was illogical. There is nothing to disagree with. My thinking on the subject of the comb has been too rigid, born of the desire to convincingly link the was to the spinnekrok and to weaving. It didn’t occur to me that, whatever the purpose of the Djet comb, there is a real overall connection to hair, to braiding of hair, etc, and that it was useful to point that out.
I still feel that those ancient combs where the teeth are quite close together and don’t number more than around 30 are unlikely to have been created for use on human hair. But that doesn’t obviate the symbolic connections. I have read every post of yours here at least twice already, and will probably come back to look again.
