The cosmic Matriarch of Mesopotamian culture was the weaver of fates according to my understanding from the texts, and weaving was clearly of major, major importance in the 4th and 3rd millenia BCE. There was only one Goddess, so Egyptian Neith would have been her equivalent in just one of her tasks.
The Egyptian image of weaving scenes are all over the place, but I don't know the dates of them and also that doesn't mean there were no other tools used - modern weaving takes many forms too according to the type of material and the product intended. Djet's comb is quite obviously a weaving tool. They are all over internet in exactly the same form. It's not anything fanciful on my part. Anyway, I'm grateful for this response, and will spend time later today working out when the various dynasties where in date terms! and responding to the other posts. As I said, I know nothing!
