The upward bulging of the surface plane between tracks makes it crystal clear that those tracks were pressed into a soft clay-like surface. If they were chiseled into the surface, then the remaining surface would retain a flat planar contour. I see no evidence supporting chiseling. It all supports a soft bed into which those tracks were made. Whether it was caused by wheels or some other force remains to be seen.
I haven't seen any discussion regarding the termini of those tracks. Is there any hypothesis of the course, starting, and ending point that might allow us to glean a function?
