I agree it's worth reporting. But it doesn't mean it's not a thin limestone slurry stain. Obviously, if it's just a trickle, the water is more evaporated, the farther down the wall it trickles. And while water can disperse when it's in free fall, I don't see that necessarily happening when it's coming down a wall due to surface tension of the trickle.
Another reason it might go down to the floor is...
1. the floor might have been swept to remove residual rubble and the broom may have grabbed the bottom few inches of wall.
2. the stain might end at the level of the original floor which may have been several inches higher than the currently exposed floor.
And yes, these two points are speculation, but they fit the evidence.
