Picking up on Carol's point (not often we see eye to eye ??) Dublin, as in the name Dublin is not even Irish, it is actually called 'Baile Atha Cliath'... the Black pool translation came about much later... So, using the name Dublin, in my view, seems a bit of a stretch, if trying to link it to any grand scheme of things...
I have just begun learning, what should be, my 'native' tongue.. it was deprived from us by the loving British, not allowed... terrible... we used to pray in Gaelic when i was at primary school..
