There's every indication that the Dogon were Egyptian during the era of the Predynastic/Dynastic boundary. It's reflected in Dogon civic traditions, their calendars, their language, their cosmological symbols and the terms for cosmological symbols and concepts. The parallels are such that if the Dogon do a thing, it's a reasonable assumption that the ancient Egyptians did so also, in earliest Dynastic times. Likewise, we see the types of overt and esoteric links we would expect to see with predynastic culture in Egypt. Numerous cultural attributes assigned to early Dynastic Egyptian culture- such as the adoption written language and of five intercalary days - are consistently not seen in Dogon culture, and so place an upper limit, in terms of historical era, on when separation occurred.
So at the very least, the Dogon, who are Black Africans, had intimate contact with ancient Egyptians in that era, those who were insiders to the cosmological tradition. Traditionally, that is thought to include the Pharaoh and priestly classes.
I'll say again that for a DNA study to tell us anything about the likely origins of Pharonic culture, it must be drawn from the earliest Dynastic eras. A wealth of non-DNA evidence consistently suggests that this era was heavily influenced by groups who were, and still are, Black African.
