And if you and he had stopped here then I'd have no problem at all with it.

Learning to "understand the language" has obviously never even begun or we'd be able to define more and more sceptres, icons, and origins over the decades but instead we're still stuck exactly where we started at "0".
"Learning the complexities of the hieroglyphs" simply mean importing ideas from the book of the dead. To the authors of the book of the dead the "duat" was not the same thing as it was to the authors of the Pyramid Texts. It was written with an imperishable star in the arm of nut but the authors of the book of the dead couldn't understand the concept that this was merely the eye of horus from another perspective. Botd authors thought linearly as we do so they though the duat was dead gods under the ground. It was dead gods (neters/ natural phenomena) under the ground only after the water dried up. Then the language changed and rather than a star in a circle REPRESENTING the geyser the star in the circle was SYMBOLIC of dead gods under the ground. I'm running out of ways to explain these simple concepts.
But one thing is sure and that is if you're going to try to understand the hieroglyphs in terms of Egyptological beliefs you're going to fall into all the same traps and all the same circular arguments. Go ahead and start with the glyphs but you'll need to understand them only in terms of the other glyphs or you've tacitly accepted the same flawed methodology as Egyptology uses to try to understand these.
It's really very simple. Ancient Language can't be translated into any of the thousands of modern languages. If you try to read it like modern language the meaning disappears and you'll be left with the same misunderstanding as the authors of the book of the dead. The authors of the botd couldn't understand it5 because they lacked science and didn't think like the PT authors.
What in this post are people not getting?
Ancient people didn't think like Egyptologists so Egyptologists missed the meaning of the metaphysical language.
