I haven't "completely ignored it". But no substantial new writing has been found to cast light on author intent of the Pyramid Texts. Most Of the changes in the last 65 years aren't about new words coming to light but new ways to insert concepts from the book of the dead into the older writing. They are finding lots of later writing and to some extent this can be used to translate individual words from the PT but in my opinion they cast no light on author intent in almost every single case. Of course I lack the expertise to make judgements in each instance but it is obvious each new translation is worse than the last and more like the book of the dead than the last.
There are a few words in Merer's diary that may apply to the PT but then this is period so it's unsurprising.

That's close enough to the truth but I do have all the later translations and have read extensively of Egyptological opinion since I said that. I avoided such opinion largely because I didn't want my research to be tainted by opinion. The other translations have not been extremely helpful but have helped solve a few lines. When I started reading opinion back around '12 it was exceedingly helpful and helped with dozens of lines.
I haven't read all of Allen's work because I seriously doubt there is anything in it that might help understand. He has some good insights but has drifted too far from author intent. I do like his "sky arcs" definition for the rainbows but otherwise it's just too much work and cost for too little gain. His work is not only unsearchable but it's difficult to compare to other translations since it's so revolutionary and doesn't employ the same numbering system.
Mercer is probably everyone's best bet despite some weaknesses unless they can read German.
