Actually, the Great Pyramid of Giza is - like all Egyptian pyramids - a symbolic tomb for a king.
Having said that, I concede that it is quite possible that the Great Pyramid of Giza tomb is in fact both symbolic and actual.
The known passages and chambers (and their various features) are symbolic, but located elsewhere inside the Pyramid is the king's actual burial chamber.
