A pole and branch hut, with cedar bough roof and walls.
I had proper hand tools, though, a swede saw, an axe and a hatchet/hammer.
I did use rope to tie the corners etc., and I added plastic tarps after I'd been working a couple of weeks.
And moved into a real house after two months.
Those were the days...I gladly left behind!
Not exactly, not even close.
His is a fine hut, mine was a temporary dwelling destined to collapse.
I was reminded of seeing an adobe cabin being built in Mexico where
the builder had inserted bricks haphazardly among the woven branches
before applying his layers of clay. Mixing modern materials with ancient method.
