Aside from the conspiratorial silliness and distractions, it's an enjoyable & thought provoking topic indeed..

Could that be because there were public ceremonies & celebrations of sorts, that wouldn't have suited tunnels & underground?
-just a thought?
Then after the boat ceremony or such, great care/love was taken to enclose the boats, ofttimes with the huge blocks as the ones described.
Also, there is a clear progression with the boats, pits and the like. I think that is clear as could be.
Sorry my contribution wasn't something of dazzling scientific substance.
But at least I am paying attention hey?
