There is a real problem with expert opinion. They often disagree and they are each wrong. People assume that in the real sciences there's only one correct answer and the experts all know what it is.

It doesn't work this way so we would end up with each side looking for their own experts.

The best bet is to seek the opinnion of experienced experts on specific disagreements. Even experts with experience sometimes say the darndest things but at least we'd have a better shot at the correct interpretations and possibilities.

Wording of a question is critical as is whether the expert missed that day in school or not.
