geologist Dr. Robert Schoch argued that these widely dispersed dates only make sense if it is assumed
that the pyramids were built and rebuilt in several stages, suggesting that later pharaoh’s such as Khufu
were only inheritors of existing monuments, not the original builders, and that they merely rebuilt orrepaired previously constructed sections. The mortar used is of a gypsum compound that easily washesaway after a fortnight of rain. Although such a fortnight never occurred in Egypt, mortar may have beenadded on the outside from time to time, especially in the lower sections, before these pyramids receivedtheir casing stones. The highest date suggests that the core of the Great Pyramid may already have beenbuilt as early as 3969-3649 BC, while most repairs were done between 3515 BC and 2749 BC before themantle finally came on to protect the core. Another possible explanation is that older carbon material wasused or reused in the mortar at the top intentionally to link the pyramid with the remote past. The usualsuggestion is that the problem may be the charcoal, but charcoal like wood is very rarely a problem. Theproblem remains: how did older dated samples reach the top outer layers of such huge monuments as thepyramids of Gizeh.
And so far Robert Schoch’s proposal makes the most sense
Your post critique is nearly an Egyptology high five with a little scorn for not being
The RDC hit 3800 +/- 160 from the upper G1 tiers.
And that's not the only hit to punch out of 4th into earlier predynastic.
Hawass and peer review say all the other RDC on Djoser to Middle Kingdom is bang on.
Maybe it is...
And it does not mean that Khufu built G1
The RDC data says that G1 was repaired. ..was extant...before Djoser built his step
It's Extant. ...hence why it's Sacred ground and Elites with money build Mastabas
You publish on early Dynastic building Mastabas and the influence of Mesopotamia
And then chuck in with Hawass and give some of us pause as to what your agenda is.
The HOM flying monkeys have not explained why Menkaure casing looks exactly like
Andean stone constructions.
This ninnying over some aspect of 2 or 3 Dynastic ages where they do dressed and undressed
Stone ...and a lot of mud brick
It's not the wrecking ball vs why the above casing stone and oversees South America
Is the same...
Not looks just a little like it....the same!
The UPPER tiers of G1 did not produce one 90 yr old
They produced numerous misses
That Khufu is nowhere in the boat pit save for some off remark
Vs Djedefre who is 18 cartouches
Is it Khufus Tomb or not?
Time to show your cards...
Are you an Alternative and revision Egyptology thinker
Or should you maybe put on your HOM badge for the conference.
T Bird...exasperated with slippery fishes.
