Andrew's article notes the north south and east west builder change in certain pyramids.

That these are ascribed to 4th Dynasty.
And that 2 may not have been Pyramids. .. were Stellar observation Platforms
Abu Rawash and Zawiyet el Aryan.

Thanos threads on Mastabas had me pondering about the Mesopotamian influence.
Wealth and logistics resources to build Mastabas.

They are building lots of brick buildings.
This is still wealth and logistics. .
4th dyn had Stone Mastaba in some kind of zenith evolution...

Khufu Khaf builds an exotic Mastaba for His and Hers. ..then Djedefre kicks it
And Khufu Khaf becomes Khafre. ...and has an instant towering Pyramid.

The Mastaba builder side is multiple dynasty by 4th.

And yet as you note....

It's not correct in degree as the Giant pyramids.


There must be a good excuse. .......Outsourcing maybe : )
