IMO it's the inexact nature of Transcription...but the meaning is the same for all; naming the Pharaoh 'Khufu', (etc.) regardless of the minor variations in the Glyphs. (The Professor and Maryann schooled me on this one.)
(P.S. Schoch was correct, this time. The Fringe doesn't usually like to discuss the fact that the Glyohs are inverted in Lady A's Chamber....)
