Hill and Perring made drawings of all the marks in "virtual darkness, hampered insect and blast dust". The difference between making their drawings and forging the cartouche would be what.... larger brush?
Probably the most damning is Davison's chamber, the one chamber Vyse did not discover, has no marks.
