Yes, this is what it boils dsown to. There is a far larger infrastructure to disseminate ramps than any ramping system would have entailed even if they had used ramps and they aren't instead debunked. All over the world teachers stand in front of students and speak of stinky footed bumpkins dragging stones because they had no other technology. Even calling ramps "technology" is a slap in the face for the builders.
They call them tombs and never bother to tell students that most of this is assumption rather than established fact. It doesn't matter to Egyptologists that the Pyramid Texts make no sense because they're obviously about religion and magic since they mention gods and are incantations. It doesn't matter the science that has been done doesn't agree because their only understanding is in a given framework that is beyond reproach.
People have been brought up to believe ancients were primitive but we're all better now so these things seem to make sense to most people.
And almost every single year no science occurs at Giza. There's no time and no money for science. The paperwork is a burden so better to just continue on with the same ol' same ol'.

Man fears the pyramid, time fears man.
