Even if an Egyptologist in a faculty position averages a humble $50k wage/yr in the USA, then for every 20 of them, that's a million bucks. So assuming there's more than a handful of Egyptologists in the USA, how many millions is that in the USA alone? And considering that many of them survive in publish-or-perish mode, that means millions are spent on spreading the word.
