You obviously do not understand the subtleties of the fabrication methods that are being discussed.
By the way some of these tourist souvenir shops put on a show of hand fabrication while in the background there's a machine shop equipped with power lathes knocking them out "ten to the dime".
Tribal African woodcarvings are also popular. Carved from packing crate planks using angle grinders and then boiled overnight in old engine oil to blacken them up a bit. Ever wondered why they are always tall and narrow.. Kinda plank shaped.
