Nobody seems to be in the least concerned with the utter absurdity of orthodox beliefs. The concept that superstition gave the ancients superhuman powers to drag stones up unevidenced ramps which has been determined by studying a book of incantation that doesn't agree with a single tenet of the paradigm seems to make perfect sense.
Then when anyone comes up with any sort of viable alternative everyone can see a million inconsistencies. Nevermind that the book of incantation specifically states the king flies up in a boat to the stars because it's already been pronounced to mean something else.
If people can swallow such nonsense hook, line, and sinker then they can believe anything at all, except maybe that they aren't the crown of creation.
