The techno scientific approach is a scam, a non scientific approach
There's a line from a Steeley Dan song to the effect that we "wouldn't even know a diamond if we held it in our hand." My perspective is that, in the comparative systems of ancient cosmology, we have what looks like reasonable science, cross-confirmed on multiple points of evidence. Moreover, rather than this having been given as theory, it's framed as statement of fact. If that were true, the large potential payoff justifies what might seem like low probability of it ultimately proving true. Nonetheless, my understanding is that it's the role of science to pursue the various possibilities, not dismiss them.
