Certainly, excavations and the like are Egyptological in nature but maximizing revenue is financial and learning about the pyramids is engineering. They issued a call to Egyptologists recently to explain the thermal anomaly but now the data seems to be lost in a void as it doesn't fit Egyptological theory. This wouldn't happen with scientists in charge. Scientists cxould design experimental parameters to do microscopic forensics. This just isn't the 19th century any longer where anyone could use a tape measure. Our instruments are more complex to understand and more complex to use. Interpretation of results is more complex.
One would think they'd at least have some scientists on staff.
