If one looks at the satellite image on google earth of this area (I wish I could post images of this) you will see a line of debris extending out to sea perpendicular to the coastline from this center where the tsunami made landfall. Tiwanaku and Puma Punku being the most impacted in it's inland path. This center was the portion of the tsunami with the most inertia behind it. Therefore, it traveled further inland, carried more volume and resulted in a massive amount of "funneled" torrent back to sea due to the topography of the land it was escaping. This funnel of water created a riptide that carried all sort of material, debris, and here is the freakish point, "survivors" out to sea. If you zoom in to the end of this riptide debris field you will see that Easter Island lies at the tail end of it. Could these descendants of Easter Island be the ancient pre-Tiwanaku people whose city of 40,000 lies buried beneath Tiwanaku and Puma Punku? Just visit some of the structures of Easter Island and compare them with the stone structures at Tiwanaku and Puma Punku. Did these "descendants" land on the island clinging to debris for 3000 miles and bring their technology of precise stone cutting and unexplained ability to levitate (seemingly) massive stones into place?
I would bet on it. I know I might be viewed as someone that rides the short bus and licks windows on this but it's just too freakishly possible.
