There does not appear to be. Many of the the blocks for the Sphinx and Valley Temples were taken from the enclosure ergo they would be as old as the enclosure and the rock formation. The Sphinx temple actually sits inside the excavated area congruous with the "floor" of the Sphinx enclosure:
Which was extended in front of the causeway to to accommodate the Valley Temple:
The more I look at the enclosure the more I have to wonder what it is we are really seeing here.
Why would this leading edge behind the rump not be aesthetically shaped:
Not to mention as I have already noted the enclosure walls do not appear to be the walls of a quarry nor even what one would expect from an enclosure wall:
The massive blocks at the front of the Valley temple with granite facing:
Why are they so high?
If this were all built as one structure, why is the granite temple so far recessed below the height of the other blocks:
The granite temple and facing blocks are asserted by some, including myself, to be later additions which looking at it from this vantage point it further appears the granite was later added within the dead carcass of a much earlier structure. What is the point of building the walls so unnecessarily higher just to obscure the temple within? Why such massive blocks on the front of the temple?
A thought I am mulling around is that the harbor is right in front of the Sphinx. Did the Sphinx enclosure and associated temples once serve as an even earlier harbor or water feature of sorts when the Nile was larger? The Sphinx temple is made of much smaller blocks and is basically a hack job compared to the Valley Temple. I wonder if it was originally not there and made at a later time from recycled blocks which would have left this "channel" open to the Sphinx enclosure straight from the Nile.
Compare to the Valley Temple.

Yes, this is getting interesting.
