This is the plate I colorized from Hoffman,Michael A. Egypt Before the Pharaohs, Alfred A Knopf, 1979 New York and I did add some text you can look at the original in his book. It show a rise in the Nile River valley But, upstream from Egypt and around the surrounding area are in drought however, in the lower valley of the Nile the river level rose. A "Dam" is the only explanation!
