No comprehensible writing survives from the great pyramid building age therefore we have no choice but to read what we can understand and try to extrapolate meaning that applies to earlier times. This is exactly what Egyptologists did with the book of the dead. It would have worked fine except the authors of the book of the dead didn't understand the pyramid builders any better than we do.
We'll find quite a bit of the Bible and the Koran do apply to the ancient Egyptians, I'm sure.
