HI Brian Patterson
The Hebrew people lived in Egypt for over 500 years before they went to Canaan. This was during an important time in Egyptian History. Today any one who has had a member of their family in a country for that long would consider them self a “National” of that country! Then the Hebrew nation was a neighboring country for centuries. Are you implying Canadians have no knowledge of what is or did happen in the USA?
The written Alp-Bet is alphanumeric and when the scribes transcribe a text they use a line-cipher to verify the copy to the original. That is why the Qumran text match all most perfectly the modern copies made today. Therefore, why would any open minded scholar write "Off" the Hebrew texts versatility? Yes, they may disagree with many people but to throw away that historical evidence is not a wise thing to do!
